The cost advantage of producing iron-based double spur gears using powder metallurgy is most evident in large-scale production, driven primarily by three factors: high material utilization, minimal machining, and high production efficiency. (1) Traditional processes have a material utilization rate of only 40% to 70%, with significant losses due to forging flash and machining chips; powder metallurgy uses quantitative powder filling, resulting in a utilization rate of over 95%.
