The lock tongue is the core moving part of a lock, directly determining security and service life. This product is manufactured by powder metallurgy compaction process: metal powder is pressed into shape in a precision die under high pressure, then sintered at high temperature to metallurgically bond particles, obtaining a high-density, high-strength lock tongue blank. Subsequent heat treatment (quenching + tempering) and sizing are applied to achieve required dimensional accuracy and mechanical properties.

Powder metallurgy is particularly suitable for lock tongues due to their complex shape and large batch size. It enables one-piece forming of slopes, slots, and guide structures, reducing machining and cost. We use iron-based alloy (Fe-Cu-C) or stainless steel powder, with density up to 7.0-7.4 g/cm³, tensile strength 500-800 MPa, and hardness adjustable (HRC 25-45). Surface treatments include black oxide, zinc plating, polishing, etc., meeting different anti-rust and appearance requirements.

Our engineering team will then conduct DFM analysis and propose optimized solutions.
